Anime Saimoe Tournament 2011 – CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH – Sakura Kyouko vs. Tomoe Mami

The other semifinal match has just been completed and Mami has won. Here is the result from that match:

1. Tomoe Mami (Madoka): 407 votes

2. Kaname Madoka (Madoka): 392 votes

Mami had a generous lead in the beginning. Near the end, Madoka-chan got close to her, but it was not enough. The goddess has fallen and Mami is getting ready to win this tournament. Predictions are now 120-38 and picks are 80-78.

After four months of battles, we have finally made it to the championship match. Here are the two girls that will be aiming for the Saimoe crown tomorrow:

Sakura Kyouko (Madoka): 1st (F5), 56.3% (G12-1), 67.9% (G4-2), 63.5% (G2-3), 63.1% (G1-4), 53.6% (Q2), 60.4% (S1)

Tomoe Mami (Madoka): 1st (F8), 62.1% (F3-1), 60.5% (F1-2), 69.1% (F1-3), 70.1% (F1-4), 53.7% (Q4), 50.9% (S2)

This will be a battle between Puella Magi Red and Puella Magi Yellow. This is the first one-series battle in three years, when the Hiiragi twins battled for the title. This will be the first and probably final time that we have the Madoka girls in this tournament, so these two will try to make the best of this final.

Mami did not have a hard time getting into the elite eight. Her only tough battles were her previous two round battles. She just stopped Ika-chan’s invasion and put Madoka-chan to sleep before she could get past her. She is looking to finish off her final opponent with Tiro Finale.

Kyouko-chan’s path was a bit harder than Mami’s, but unlike Mami, she was overlooked, seen as Madoka’s underdog. But despite her hardships, she managed to stop Index, Ruri-chan, and Erica, with her hardest battle being against Ruri-chan. However, will she be able to overcome Mami with her food and her spear? Kyouko-chan could certainly do it, but I don’t think she will be able to dodge Tiro Finale. I think this is Mami’s match to win. I will be cheering for Kyouko-chan.
