The first match of the semifinals have just ended and Kyouko-chan has won. Here is the result from that match:
1. Sakura Kyouko (Madoka): 509 votes
2. Erica Hartmann (Strike Witches): 334 votes
Erica had a close match with Kyouko-chan, but Kyouko-chan just pulled away. The Strike Witch did well, but she just didn’t have the power to go up against a Puella Magi. And with that, we will have a Puella Magi filled final. We’ve had one-series finals before, with the Hiiragi twins final (2008, Lucky Star) and the Applefield Orphanage final (2004, Ashita no Nadja). However, this is the earliest that we knew which series has won the tournament. Predictions are now 1-0 (120-37) and picks are 1-0 (80-77).
Now to the other match in the semifinals:
Kaname Madoka (Madoka): 1st (Group F1), 60.4% (C3-1), 65.6% (C1-2), 67.0% (C1-3), 64.1% (C1-4), 53.2% (Q3)
Tomoe Mami (Madoka): 1st (F8), 62.1% (F3-1), 60.5% (F1-2), 69.1% (F1-3), 70.1% (F1-4), 53.7% (Q4)
The Puella Magi have already taken this tournament, but who will be the one that goes to the finals? Well, this match is going to be tough to read. Madoka-chan has basically gotten to the final four the easy way. She didn’t have any particularly strong girls that she fought. You could say the same thing for Mami until she fought Ika-chan. Mami could certainly win this, but I think the voters would like to see the Goddess win the whole thing, so I’m predicting a Madoka-chan win. I will also be cheering for Madoka-chan.
