The final match of the group finals has ended and Kuroneki has won. Here is the result from that Group H match:
1. Kuroneko/Gokou Ruri (Ore no Imouto): 446 votes
2. Shinonono Houki (Infinite Stratos): 301 votes
It looked like a really close match…but it wasn’t. There was a lot of fake votes for Houki, making things a lot closer than they actually were. In fact, Ruri-chan had a generous lead the entire match. Infinite Stratos is now out for this year, while Ruri-chan hopes to destroy the hopes of the Puella Magi. Predictions are now 6-2 (116-36) and picks are 5-3 (77-75).
With the group finals over, let’s summarize a bit about what happened. Half of this round was basically the Puella Magi destroying their competition. In the other half, we had Lotte shocking Mikoto-chan, Erica shooting down Kanade-chan, Ika-chan continuing her invasion, and Ruri-chan outsmarting Houki. We will have two rest days, but let’s go look at the first match of the elite eight (10/28):
Astarotte Ygvar (Lotte no Omocha!): 1st (F9), 57.0% (A12-1), 50.6% (A2-3), 57.7% (A1-4)
Erica Hartmann (Strike Witches): 4th (F2), 43.7% (B8-1), 44.2% (B3-2), 50.1% (B2-3), 53.9% (B1-4)
Erica has given Strike Witches its best performance in Saimoe Tournament. However, this is where it ends for her. She will be facing Lotte and unless Erica can get enough anti-Kugyuu votes, she will be out. Lotte is lucky that the Puella Magi have basically been screwed over and that most of them are not on her side of the bracket. I’ll be rooting for Lotte.
