Anime Saimoe Tournament 2011 – Round 4 – Group H Final

The Group G final match has just finished and Anko-chan has won. Here is the result from that match:

1. Sakura Kyouko (Madoka): 428 votes

2. Index (Index): 250 votes

Okay, so I kind of wrongly predicted what would happen. Kyouko-chan didn’t have the tough match that I thought she would have. She, like the three Puella Magi before her, had no problem winning against Index. The Puella Magi have taken half of the elite eight, something that only Saki has done before (2009), though I would say Madoka’s performance is more impressive since they got four in with less girls. Now, the Puella Magi are wishing two things: that they continue to do well and that they don’t get screwed by the elite eight drawings. That makes my predictions are 5-2 (115-36) and picks 4-3 (76-75).

Now on to the final match of the group finals, Group H:

Shinonono Houki (Infinite Stratos): 6th (F16), 56.6% (H3-1), 49.5% (H1-2), 56.9% (H1-3)

Kuroneko/Gokou Ruri (Ore no Imouto): 1st (F11), 52.9% (H11-1), 53.6% (H4-2), 62.1% (H2-3)

Now with the Madoka matches done for this round, we should have an interesting match. Ruri-chan has been doing well, but Houki has been surprising some people, easily defeating Aria-chan last round. They are both the lone contenders of their series and they are looking to beat each other up. Both have their fans but Ruri-chan does have a little more animosity from the community than Houki does. However, I think that Ruri-chan still has a slight advantage here. I’ll be rooting for Ruri-chan.
