Anime Saimoe Tournament 2011 – Round 3 – C1/D2

The second third round match has just finished and Lotte and Tenshi have won. Here are the results from those matches:

Match A2:

1. Astarotte Ygvar (Lotte no Omocha!): 420 votes

2. Makise Kurisu (STEINS;GATE): 410 votes

Match B1:

1. Tachibana Kanade/Tenshi (Angel Beats!): 474 votes

2. Gertrud Barkhorn (Strike Witches): 361 votes

Lotte took the early lead and it looked like she would have an easy day, but Kurisu caught up near the end and even got past her. But at the last hour, Lotte retook the lead, barely winning. STEINS;GATE made things interesting, but at the end, they were not tough enough for this tournament. Unlike Lotte, Kanade-chan had no problems going up against Gertrud. Not the biggest of leads, but she maintained a comfortable lead for the entire match. Predictions are now 2-0 (99-33) and picks are 2-0 (64-68).

Here are the next two matches for today:

Match C1:

Kaname Madoka (Madoka): 1st (Group F1), 60.4% (C3-1), 65.6% (C1-2)

Hercule Barton (Milky Holmes): 7th (F1), 54.1% (C6-1), 45.1% (C2-2)

Match D2:

Last Order (To Aru Majutsu no Index): 3rd (F4), 50.6% (D9-1), 35.8% (D3-2)

Yuno (Hidamari Sketch): 4th (Group F10), 55.2% (D12-1), 52.6% (D4-2)

The Group C matchup is going to be similar to the Lotte match we just had. Madoka-chan will be Lotte and Hercule will be Kurisu. You would think that Madoka-chan would have an easy time today, but Milky Holmes is going to be the STEINS;GATE of this match. There is a chance that Madoka-chan will not have an easy time in this match, but I think she will win this. The Group D match is going to be an even closer match. Super veteran Yuno is looking to get to the group finals again, but she is going to have to face Last Order-chan. Right now, I’m putting Yuno over Last Order-chan, but it can easily be the other way around. I’ll be rooting for Madoka-chan and Last Order-chan.
