The first set of second round matches in Groups G and H have just ended and Index and Houki have won. Here are the results from those matches:
1. Index (To Aru Majutsu no Index): 317 votes
2. Kousaka Kirino (OreImo): 284 votes
3. Eila Ilmatar Juutilainen (Strike Witches): 134 votes
1. Shinonono Houki (Infinite Stratos): 330 votes
2. Nakagawa Kanon (KamiNomi): 219 votes
3. Agnese Sanctis (To Aru Majutsu no Index): 117 votes
Another favorite gets knocked out of the tournament. The thing about being a favorite is that while you’re expected to do well, you’ll also have a very large target on your head. Kiririn was either weaker than expected or she had a lot of votes going against her (or both). In any case, Index shows no mercy for Kiririn, getting away from the beginning. Houki did the same thing for Kanon, while Kanon barely avoided third place. Predictions are now 18-8 (91-31) and picks are 10-16 (55-67). Yet another 0-2 day for me.
Here are the next two matches of this round:
Morishima L. Haruka (Amagami SS): 5th (F13), 56.2% (G4-1)
Ayuzawa Misaki (Kaichou wa Maid-sama): 13th (F5), 1st (S3), 43.4% (G5-1)
Yui (Angel Beats!): 8th (Group F1), 51.4% (G6-1)
Kanzaki H. Aria (Hidan no Aria): 2nd (F5), 53.1% (H4-1)
Marui Hitoha (Mitsudomoe): 8th (F12), 43.8% (H5-1)
Haruna (KoreZon): 8th (Group F16), 50.2% (H6-1)
Well, the first match should be an interesting match between Haruka and Yui-nyan. This is a rematch between their two series that happened earlier in the round. After a so-so first round, Amagami hasn’t been doing well in this round, including a big loss to Kanade-chan. I think this might be a closer match than the Kanade-chan/Tsukasa match, but I think that Yui-nyan will win this. Of course, I can be wrong (as we can see from the past two days). Unless another surprise wants to show up, I think that Aria-chan will win this. Hitoha and Haruna-chan are just way too weak to face this Kugyuu tsundere. I’ll be rooting for Yui-nyan and Aria-chan.
