Anime Saimoe Tournament 2011 – Round 2 – A3/B3

The second second round matches of Groups A and B have just finished and Biri Biri and Tenshi have won. Here are the results from those matches:

Match A2:

1. Misaka Mikoto (Index): 450 votes

2. Hide Yoshino/Hideyoshi (Sengoku Otome): 181 votes

3. Chaos (Sora no Otoshimono): 84 votes

Match B2:

1. Tachibana Kanade/Tenshi (Angel Beats!): 393 votes

2. Ayatsuji Tsukasa (Amagami SS): 217 votes

3. Merry Nightmare (Yumekui Merry): 113 votes

As expected, Mikoto-chan has no problem advancing again in a much more subdued match than her last match. Kanade-chan also manages to win easily, showing no mercy towards Tsukasa and Merry-chan. Even after all these months, Angel Beats! still has a force in this tournament. That brings my predictions to 3-1 (76-24) and my picks to 2-2 (47-53)

Here are the next matches coming up today:

Match A3:

Tachibana Miya (Amagami SS): 5th (F1), 54.6% (A7-1)

Makise Kurisu (STEINS;GATE): 2nd (F6), 45.2% (A8-1)

Itsuwa (Index): 6th (F7), 51.1% (A9-1)

Match B3:

Pao-Ling Huang (TIGER&BUNNY): 13th (F4), 1st (S5), 45.6% (B7-1)

Erica Hartmann (Strike Witches): 4th (F2), 43.7% (B8-1)

Huang Lingyin (Infinite Stratos): 4th (F13), 48.2% (B9-1)

The Group A match should be a close match between all three girls, but I think that Kurisu will manage to take the top spot. She is a bit stronger than Miya and Itsuwa. In the Group B match, we’ll see a close match between Erica and Ririn-chan. Either girl has good chances of winning, but I think that Ririn-chan is a little bit stronger than Erica. I’ll be voting for Itsuwa and Ririn-chan.
