Anime Saimoe Tournament 2011 – Round 2 – A2/B2

The first two matches of this round have just ended and Victorique and Gertrud have won. Here are the results from those matches:

Match A1:

1. Victorique de Blois (GOSICK): 271 votes

2. Astraea (Sora no Otoshimono): 169 votes

3. Hagimura Suzu (Seitokai Yakuindomo): 96 votes

Match B1:

1. Gertrud Barkhorn (Strike Witches): 233 votes

2. Mifune Ryuuko (Denpa Onna): 225 votes

3. Shijima Sui (Hanasaku Iroha): 98 votes

Victorique got the victory again, having no problem going up against Astraea and Suzu. The other match of the day was much closer than that. Gertrud took the lead at the beginning, but Ryuuko-chan managed to stay within striking distance. They virtually tied past the halfway mark, but after that, Gertrud got away from her. Ryuuko-chan came really close at the end, but it was not enough to pass Gertrud. Unlike the first match, the grandma showed no power at all in this match. That brings my predictions to 1-1 (74-24) and my picks to 0-2 (45-53).

Here are the next two matches in this round:

Match A2:

Chaos (Sora no Otoshimono): 7th (F14), 43.7% (A4-1)

Misaka Mikoto (Index): 3rd (F3), 52.0% (A5-1)

Hide Yoshino/Hideyoshi (Sengoku Otome): 7th (F4), 43.8% (A6-1)

Match B2:

Tachibana Kanade/Tenshi (Angel Beats!): 2nd (F7), 54.8% (B4-1)

Ayatsuji Tsukasa (Amagami SS): 3rd (F11), 45.1% (B5-1)

Merry Nightmare (Yumekui Merry): 4th (F1), 45.9% (B6-1)

Mikoto-chan had a tough match last round, beating Madoka favorite Homura-chan. This round shouldn’t be as tough for her. She might have some trouble with Chaos, but Mikoto-chan should make it up top again. The other match is a bit more interesting. Kanade-chan easily beat Mugi, showing that Angel Beats! still had some power. However, HTT wasn’t really doing too well anyway. So, how will she fare with not-so-weak girls. Amagami isn’t the fading series that K-On!! was and Merry-chan isn’t weak herself. This is going to be a close match, but I think Kanade-chan will win this one. I will be supporting Mikoto-chan and Kanade-chan (even though I would also support Hideyoshi-chan and Merry-chan).
