Anime Saimoe Tournament 2011 – Round 1 – H2/H6/H10

The first group of Group H matches have ended and Kanon, Sanjou-san, and Miyako have won. Here are the results:

Match H1:

1. Nakagawa Kanon (KamiNomi): 195 votes

2. Nyaruko (Haiyoru! Nyaruani: Remember My Love(craft-sensei)): 106 votes

3. Ookami Ryouko (Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakamatachi): 96 votes

Match H5:

1. Marui Hitoha (Mitsudomoe): 175 votes

2. Sangou Shizuku (Kampfer): 167 votes

3. Celty Sturluson (Durarara!): 58 votes

Match H9:

1. Miyako (Hidamari Sketch): 228 votes

2. Yamanaka Sawako (K-On!!): 93 votes

3. Tokugawa Sen (Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls): 92 votes

In 2009, we had 4 K-On! girls advancing to at least the second round, with Yui eventually getting to the finals and losing to Taiga-chan. In 2010, we had 6 K-On!! girls advancing to at least the second round, with Azu-nyan eventually winning the whole thing. Well, 2011 was not a good year for them at all. It’s quite amazing to see what has happened the past month to these girls. Sawa-chan-sensei’s match was their last match of the year, with Miyako easily winning and Sawa-chan-sensei just barely clinging on to second. Hitoha and Shizuku were basically even for all of the match, but Hitoha managed to take the win. As for Kanon, she had no problem with her competition. That brings predictions to 64-23 and picks to 41-46.

Here are the next three matches:

Match H2:

Agnese Sanctis (To Aru Majutsu no Index): 8th (Group F4)

Migiwa Kazuha (Yosuga no Sora): 18th (Group F11), 16th (Group S4)

Fuyukawa Kurusu (Softenni): 25th (Group F15), 13th (Group S3)

Match H6:

Lala Satalin Deviluke (To Love-Ru): 19th (Group F1), 9th (Group S4)

Haruna (KoreZon): 8th (Group F16)

Amatsume Akira (Yosuga no Sora): 11th (Group F13)

Match H10:

Harukaze Asuna (Softenni): 14th (Group F8), 5th (Group S5)

Shimada Hazuki (BakaTest): 10th (Group F16)

Shirai Kuroko (To Aru…): 2nd (Group F1)

Agnese isn’t really a strong character, but so isn’t Kazuha and Kurusu, so she should win today. KoreZon hasn’t been doing well in this tournament, but Haruna is their best chance of moving on to the second round. She will have some trouble against Akira, but she should be able to win this. Minami-chan was able to make it to the second round. Unfortunately, her sister might not be able to follow her footsteps because of “onee-sama” loving Kuroko. I’ll be voting for Kurusu, Haruna-chan, and Hazuki-chan.
