Anime Saimoe Tournament 2011 – Round 1 – G4/G8/G12

Three more matches have just ended and Kiririn, Rihoko, and Charlotte have won. Here are the results from those matches:

Match G3:

1. Kousaka Kirino (OreImo): 328 votes

2. Tsurugi Minko (Hanasaku Iroha): 246 votes

3. Yuri (Angel Beats!): 102 votes

Match G7:

1. Sakurai Rihoko (Amagami SS): 290 votes

2. Naganohara Mio (Nichijou): 276 votes

3. Marui Futaba (Mitsudomoe): 51 votes

Match G11:

1. Charlotte E. Yeagar (Strike Witches): 287 votes

2. Yoshinoya (Hidamari Sketch): 160 votes

3. Leonmitchelli Galette des Rois (DOG DAYS): 287 votes

Angel Beats! was doing well earlier, despite the fact it’s much weaker than last year. However, Yurippe had no chance in her match. Kiririn and Minchi were too much for her. And Kiririn was just too much for Minchi, proving that otaku models are in fact more moe than apprentice chefs that likes calling a certain girl “Hobiron”. The second match was much closer, with Mio giving Rihoko some trouble. However, Mio could not get past Rihoko at the end. It was a tough battle for second in the last match with Yoshinoya-sensei barely getting second against Leo-hime, but it was a much different story for the battle for first, where Charlotte had no problem winning. That brings my predictions up to 58-23 and my picks down yet again to 38-43.

Now on to the final three matches in this group:

Match G4:

Yuuki Haruna (FORTUNE ARTERIAL): 18th (Group F1), 6th (Group S6)

Morishima L. Haruka (Amagami SS): 5th (Group F13)

Kuze Kiriha (FORTUNE ARTERIAL): 16th (Group F8), 13th (Group S3)

Match G8:

Nazuna (Hidamari Sketch): 11th (Group F4)

Sakura Kiyomi (Ika Musume): 23rd (Group F13), 16th (Group S2)

Aragaki Ayase (OreImo): 4th (Group F3)

Match G12:

Tainaka Ritsu (K-On!!): 6th (Group F5)

Sakura Kyouko (Madoka): 1st (Group F5)

Sorami Kanata (Sora no Oto): 18th (Group F5), 7th (Group S6)

Haruka should have no problem against the FORTUNE ARTERIAL girls, partially because of split voting and mostly because they are much weaker than Haruka. Ayase shouldn’t have much problem either, though Nazuna could provide a little bit of trouble. The interesting match of today is Kyouko/Ritsu/Kanata match. All have faced each other in the preliminaries, with Kyouko-chan easily beating Ricchan. However, this is not the preliminaries. We already saw what happens when a Madoka girl gets a rematch with another girl they defeated during the preliminaries. But, this should be different. Ricchan is no Mikoto-chan. HTT has really hasn’t been doing well this year and I see this trend continuing. Like the other Madoka girls that have won, Kyouko-chan should win by a decent margin. I’ll be voting for Kiriha-chan, Kiyomi, and Kyouko-chan.
