Anime Saimoe Tournament 2011 – Round 1 – F2/F6/F10

The first set of Group F matches have just finished and Mikan, Arashiko, and Yuuko have won. Here are the results from those matches:

Match F1:

1. Yuuki Mikan (To Love-Ru): 396 votes

2. Salsa Tortilla (Shukufuku no Campanella): 157 votes

3. Ryuubi (Koihime Musou): 120 votes

Match F5:

1. Yuuno Arashiko (MM!): 354 votes

2. Hirasawa Ui (K-On!!): 301 votes

3. Hakase (Nichijou): 95 votes

Match F9:

1. Yuuko (A Channel): 340 votes

2. Shana (Shana): 316 votes

3. Kirishima Shouko (BakaTest): 110 votes

No surprises in the first match with Mikan-chan easily beating Salsa-chan. No surprises in the second match; it was a close match between Arashiko and Ui, but as suspected, like all other K-On!! girls before her, she is not strong enough to defeat her opponent. Now, the surprise of this day comes from the third match (though certainly not the only surprise from this tournament). Shana-chan takes the small lead in the beginning, but Yuuko took the lead afterwards. Shana-chan never lost in the first round during her tournament career (though she did tie one year against vampire loli Eva), but unfortunately, this is not the case this year. This brings my predictions to 45-18 and my picks to 30-33.

Here is a look into today’s matches:

Match F2:

Millhiore F. Biscotti (DOG DAYS): 1st (Group F1)

Kasuga Kusunoki (KamiNomi): 16th (Group F6), 16th (Group S6)

Nymph (Sora no Otoshimono): 3rd (Group F13)

Match F6:

Miria Mackenzie (Jewelpet Tinkle): 16th (Group F1), 3rd (Group S1)

Kongou Mitsuko (To Aru…): 12th (Group F11)

Miyafuji Yoshika (Strike Witches): 2nd (Group F11)

Match F10:

Asaka Hinata (Jewelpet Sunshine): 17th (Group F1), 12th (Group F3)

Kondou Mikoto (Kampfer): 8th (Group F14)

Anjou Naruko/Anaru (AnoHana): 3rd (Group F1)

The first match should be an interesting match between Biscotti princess Millhi-chan and Nymph; however, I think Millhi-chan will take the top spot today. In the second match, Yoshika should win this, seeing that Mitsuko and Miria are not at her level of strength. In the last match, Anaru should win this, though Mikoto might give her some problems. I’ll be voting for Millhi-chan, Yoshika, and Anaru.
