Anime Saimoe Tournament 2011 – Round 1 – E4/E8/E12

Another set of Group E matches have just finished and Sayaka, Ayumi, and Ohana have won.

Match E3:

1. Miki Sayaka (Madoka): 445 votes

2. Wakura Yuina (Hanasaku Iroha): 291 votes

3. Kusano (Sekirei): 40 votes

Match E7:

1. Takahara Ayumi (KamiNomi): 271 votes

2. Feyris Nyannyan (STEINS;GATE): 242 votes

3. Reki (Hidan no Aria): 149 votes

Match E11:

1. Matsumae Ohana (Hanasaku Iroha): 407 votes

2. Sawanatsu Kotone (Softenni): 177 votes

3. Tsuda Kotomi (Seitokai Yakuindomo): 86 votes

Yuina had Hanasaku Iroha votes and anti-Madoka votes going for her, but it was not enough to beat Sayaka-chan. In fact, she didn’t even get close to her, though it did appear that Yuina took the lead during part of the match if fake votes were included. Ayumi had some trouble against Feyris, but she never lost the lead. KamiNomi is just a bit too powerful for STEINS;GATE. And in the other match, Ohana had no problem at all winning her group, more than doubling the amount of votes Kotone had. That brings my predictions to 40-17 and my picks to 28-29.

Now to the final matches of this group:

Match E4:

Shimada Minami (BakaTest): 7th (Group F12)

Yuuki Kanade (FORTUNE ARTERIAL): 13th (Group F3), 1st (Group S2)

Hirasawa Yui (K-On!!): 5th (Group F8)

Match E8:

Hinata Ibuki (Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi): 13th (Group F1), 2nd (Group S6)

Nohotoke Honne/Nohohon-san (Infinite Stratos): 6th (Group F10)

Sheryl Nome (Macross Frontier): 19th (Group F7), 6th (Group S1)

Match E12:

Kon Futaba (Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru): 16th (Group F15), 3rd (Group S5)

Nakano Azusa (K-On!!): 4th (Group F6)

Haqua du Lot Herminium (KamiNomi): 6th (Group F8)

First, let’s look at the non-K-On!! match since that is easier to predict. Nohohon-chan is known as the minor character goddess to some and against her opponents, I don’t see why she can’t win this, though Ibuki might give her some trouble. Now, the other matches have Yui and Azu-nyan. Last year, that would have meant an automatic win for them. But, HTT is much weaker this year. Kanade-chan and Ika-chan had no problems beating Mugi and Mio-chan. Though, this time around, unlike Mio-chan and Mugi, Yui and Azu-nyan are facing not-so-powerful girls. The question is: will that be enough for them to win? Minami-chan is not that powerful, but she does have recent episodes to help her. Haqua is not as powerful as Elsea, but that doesn’t mean she will lose. I think that the trend will continue and Minami-chan and Haqua will win this. I will vote for Minami-chan (I also like Kanade-chan, but Minami-chan > Kanade-chan), Nohohon-chan, and Azu-nyan.
