Anime Saimoe Tournament 2011 – Round 1 – B4/B8/B12

Three more matches have just finished in this Group B and Ryuushi (リュウ『コ』やっちゅーに!), Pao-Lin, and Iroha win. Here are the results from these matches:

Match B3:

1. Mifune Ryuuko (Denpa Onna): 298 votes

2.Kurusu Kanako (OreImo): 120 votes

3.Mitsuba Mutsumi (Seitokai Yakuindomo): 75 votes

Match B7:

1. Huang Pao-Lin/Dragon Kid (TIGER&BUNNY): 223 votes

2. Shinonono Tabane (Infinite Stratos): 185 votes

3. Houjou Ayano (Moshidora): 81 votes

Match B11:

1. Tsuchiura Iroha (Onii-chan no Koto Nanka Zenzen Suki Janain dakara ne!!): 182 votes

2. Minakami Mai (Nichijou): 171 votes

3. Angelene (To Aru Majutsu no Index): 150 votes

Well, Ryuuko-chan had no problems in her, easily beating Kanako and Mutsumi. I can’t really say that the other two matches were that close. The second match was a very close match between Tabane and Pao-Lin. Tabane had a slight lead in the first half, but Pao-Lin took the lead in the second half, giving Tiger & Bunny it’s first win of this tournament. The other match was even more ridiculous because all of the girls took the lead at some point in the match. Angelene had the lead for most of the match, then some point near the end, Iroha took the lead. During the last hour, Mai surged up to take the lead, but then Iroha took back the lead back to win. That brings my predictions down to 14-7 and my picks to 7-14.

Here are the last three first round matches in Group B:

Match B4:

Kotobuki Tsumugi (K-On!!): 2nd (Group F4)

Yutaka (A Channel): 18th (Group F7), 14th (Group S4)

Tachibana Kanade/Tenshi (Angel Beats!): 2nd (Group F7)

Match B8:

Mine Riko (Hidan no Aria): 4th (Group F4)

Yoshida Yuki/Mael Strom/Tomonori (KoreZon): 4th (Group F9)

Erica Hartmann (Strike Witches): 4th (Group F2)

Match B12:

Sakamoto Mio (Strike Witches): 5th (Group F11)

Togame (Katanagatari): 12th (Group F1)

Aioi Yuuko (Nichijou): 8th (Group F12)

The match between Kanade-chan and Mugi is going to be a close one. Here, we have two of the main girls from two fading series. Mugi will get future chances, but this is basically Kanade-chan’s last chance. I think Kanade-chan has the slight advantage here. In Match B8, we’ll have another close one, but this time with all of the girls having a decent chance of advancing. Yuki-chan is probably the weakest of the three since KoreZon isn’t real strong in this tournament. So between Rikorin and Erica, I think Erica has an advantage here mostly because she’ll get help from Mio, who is fighting in the third match. Mio also has the advantage in her match because of Erica. I’ll be voting for Kanade-chan (my #4), Yuki-chan (my #2), and Mio.
