Anime Saimoe Tournament 2011 – Second Prelims 4 of 6

The third match of this second prelim is over and Ringo, aka Little Red Riding Hood, has won. Here are the top 16 that will go to the next round:

1. Akai Ringo (Ookami-san) – 131 votes

2. Karina Lyle (TIGER&BUNNY) – 121 votes

3. Sasa Kanako (Hourou Musuko) – 100 votes

3. Sakai Hina (Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi) – 100 votes

3. Tokugawa Sen (Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls) – 100 votes

6. Isara Gunther (Valkyria Cronicles) – 96 votes

6. Houjou Hibiki/Cure Melody (Pretty Cure) – 96 votes

8. Celty Sturluson (Durarara!!) – 92 votes

9. Evangeline A.K. McDowell (Negima!) – 91 votes

9. Usami Mimi (Ookami-san) – 91 votes

9. Morita Mayu (Morita-san wa Mukuchi) – 91 votes

12. Asaka Hinata (Jewelpet Sunshine) – 90 votes

13. Shiina (Angel Beats!) – 89 votes

13. Fuyukawa Kurusu (Softenni) – 89 votes

13. Kuze Kiriha (FORTUNE ARTERIAL) – 89 votes

13. Yuzuhara Konomi (To Heart 2) – 89 votes

Ringo takes this match, just beating Karina, becoming the second Ookami-san girl to enter the main tournament. Negima finally gets someone in the main tournament, with the vampire loli, Evangeline, making the cut. And despite the fading of Angel Beats! in this tournament, Shiina barely survives, getting one more vote than the cutoff (just like Konomi, Kiriha, and Kurusu). Nothing else to say about this match, except that there were many ties.

Today is K-On!!’s chance to get more girls in with Jun and Sawa-chan-sensei, but I don’t see them winning today. I think that Sairenji Haruna has the best chance of winning match number 4. Other possible advancers are A Channel’s Yutaka, Amagami’s Sae, Lotte’s Effie and Ini, BakaTest’s Akira, DARKER THAN BLACK’s Yin, Hidamari’s Natsume, IS’s Yamada-sensei, Mitsudomoe’s Mitsuba, Ika’s Eiko and Nagisa, KamiNomi’s Mio, and To Love Ru’s Lala and Momo. I’ll be voting for Jun-chan, KoreZon’s Dai-sensei and Kyouko-chan, Nodoka-chan, Madoka’s teddy bear carrying puella magi, Eiko-chan and Nagisa-chan, To Heart 2’s Yuuki-chan, Lala, Momo, Haruna-chan, and Ini-chan.
