Anime Saimoe Tournament – Semifinal Summary

The second-to-last match in this tournament has just finished and Azu-nyan has won the chance to try to become this year’s Saimoe champion. Here is a summary of the second semifinal match:

1. Nakano Azusa (K-On!!): 939 votes

2. Haramura Nodoka (Saki): 769 votes

And it happens again! Last year, Saki choked in the semifinals, losing both matches in pretty small margin. Well, they did it again. Nodocchi fell behind Azu-nyan after the first hour and she could not make up any ground. She tried to catch up in the last hour but by then, Azu-nyan’s lead was just too large for Nodocchi to get close to her. Saki had a chance to do what they couldn’t do last year, but they end up suffering at the end, even more than last year. The amount of votes both Koromo and Nodocchi were behind was much larger than last year’s. That brings my predictions and picks up to 81-29 (1-1) and my picks to 55-55 (1-1).

So, does this final match-up look familiar? Absolutely! I’ll talk more about that tomorrow before the championship match starts. Enjoy the rest day and see you tomorrow!
