Anime Saimoe Tournament – Round 1 – G4/H4

The third day of groups G and H matches have ended and Miyako and Natsume won. Here is a summary of those matches:

Match G3:

1. Miyako (Hidamari Sketch): 266 votes

2. Kanbaru Suruga (Bakemonogatari): 145 votes

3. Lala Satalin Deviluke (To Love-Ru): 65 votes

4. Komaki Manaka (ToHeart2): 55 votes

Match H3:

1. Natsume (Hidamari Sketch): 183 votes

2. Isara Gunther (Valkyria Chronicles): 162 votes

3. Sousou (Koihime Musou): 98 votes

4. Otonashi Hatsune (Angel Beats!): 75 votes

Block voting certainly helped Miyako and Natsume win their matches. Bakemonogatari and Suruga had no chance of catching up to Miyako. The other match with Natsume was a bit closer though. Isara and Natsume were head-to-head in the beginning hours of the match, but Natsume managed to take the lead. Isara tried catching up at the end, but could not. I wish that Hatsune-chan did a little bit better though. That brings my predictions up to 45-15 and my picks down to 31-29.

Here is a look into today’s matches:

Match G4:

Hirasawa Ui (K-On!!): 1st (Group F5)

Kondou Mikoto (Kampfer): 12th (Group F13)

Ryuumonbuchi Touka (Saki): 2nd (Group F3)

Touyoko Momoko (Saki): 2nd (Group F6)

Match H4:

Hisako (Angel Beats!): 20th (Group F15), 15th (Group S3)

Winry Rockbell (FMA): 16th (Group F15), 6th (Group S3)

Saten Ruiko (Railgun): 1st (Group F10)

Sae (Hidamari Sketch): 13th (Group 8), 2nd (Group S2)

In the group G match, we have three girls that did really well in the preliminaries. There is one problem though: two of them are from Saki. Seeing that we will have Railgun voters from the other match going on today that will vote against them today and that there will be split voting between those two, I think that Ui is going to win this match. I will be voting for Ui, though I would also vote for Momoko if I could (which we know we can’t).

In this not-as-exciting match, we have Girls Dead Monster’s lead guitarist, an automail repairgirl, and a writer. Well, unfortunately for them, they have to face Ruiko-chan. She might be Level 0, but she managed to easily defeat everyone else in her preliminary group. And she will again do the same here today. I’m stuck between voting for Ruiko-chan and Hisako, but I will be voting for Ruiko-chan.
