Anime Saimoe Tournament – Round 1 – E9/F9

Yesterday’s matches have just ended and Kana and Ricchan won. Here is a summary of those matches:

Match E8:

1. Nakamachi Kana (Kanamemo): 296 votes

2. Sangou Shizuku (Kampfer): 231 votes

3. Ryougi Shiki (Kara no Kyoukai): 84 votes

4. Ekaterina Kurae (Seikon no Qwaser): 74 votes

Match F8:

1. Tainaka Ritsu (K-On!!): 369 votes

2. Shiina Minatsu (Seitokai no Ichizon): 253 votes

3. Koume (Hanamaru Kindergarten): 76 votes

4. Cal Devens (Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~): 47 votes

In match E8, Kana and Shizuku were about even in the beginning of the match. Then, Kana got a slight lead that would grow throughout the rest of the match. In match F8, Ricchan had the slight lead at the beginning and Minatsu-chan just could not catch up to her. Being the sister of Mafuyu-chan just didn’t help Minatsu-chan enough to give her the victory. My predictions are now 39-13 and my picks are now 28-24.

Here is a look into the last first round matches in groups E and F:

Match E9:

Tsukuyomi Komoe (Railgun): 7th (Group F12)

Kusugawa Sasara (ToHeart2): 8th (Group F5)

Minakami Misao (Asura Cryin’): 10th (Group F9)

Suzumiya Haruhi (Haruhi): 5th (Group F15)

Match F9:

Tsukubae Shizuka (Taisho Yakyuu Musume.): 15th (Group F16), 18th (Group S2)

Tomokane (GA Geijutsuka Art Design Class): 19th (Group F11), 8th (Group S1)

Airi (Queen’s Blade): 16th (Group F8), 3rd (Group S2)

Akeno Mihoshi (Sora no Manimani): 14th (Group F4), 2nd (Group S4)

The group E match today should be a good one. All of the girls in this matchup did well, but of those four, two of them should make this match interesting: Haruhi and Komoe-sensei. Haruhi was part of the Shana/YuiMugi/Yurippe group, while Komoe-sensei was part of the Hina/Kanade/Tacos/Mio group. This match will show us which is more powerful: Railgun or Haruhi. This is a hard match to call since both of them could do well, but for now, I am going to say that Haruhi is going to win this match. I’m going to vote for Misao-chan.

This other matchup is basically the opposite of the group E match. None of these girls made it past the first preliminary. This match is basically going to be between Mihoshi and Airi (and maybe Tomokane); however, I think that Mihoshi has the slight advantage here. I will also be voting for her.
