Anime Saimoe Tournament – Round 1 – C9/D9

The eighth set of C and D matches have just ended several minutes ago and Hajime and Aruru have won. Here is a summary of these matches:

Match C8:

1. Kunihiro Hajime (Saki): 285 votes

2. Mitsuki Sohara (Sora no Otoshimono): 273 votes

3. Sonozaki Mion (Higurashi): 91 votes

4. Eve Neuschwanstein (NEEDLESS): 68 votes

Match D8:

1. Aruru (Utawarerumono): 253 votes

2. Tsuzuki Otome (Mayoi Neko Overrun!): 229 votes

3. Ichinose Yumiko Christina (Yoku Wakaru Gendai Mahou): 113 votes

4. Ushiromiya Ange (Umineko no Naku Koro ni): 85 votes

Hajime had an easy time in her match until the last hour. Sohara got really close to her at the end, but Hajime managed to narrowly win. Aruru was in the lead for most of the match, though she didn’t have that much of a lead compared to Hajime. Near the end, Otome managed to pass her and it remained like that for an hour. Then, Aruru took a small lead again at the end. That was a close lost for both Hajime and Aruru, but at the end, they won. That brings my predictions up to 25-9 and my picks to 17-17.

With eight C and eight D matches over, one more first round battle is left for group C and group D. Here are the matchups:

Match C9:

Yuiki Yaya (Shugo Chara!): 13th (Group F9), 14th (Group S4)

Haramura Nodoka (Saki): 3rd (Group F6)

Sakura Akari (Jewlpet Tinkle): 10th (Group F12)

Yamada (B-Gata H-Kei): 5th (Group F16)

Match D9:

Himegami Aisa (Railgun): 13th (Group F16), 12th (Group S4)

Satou (Mayoi Neko Overrun!): 11th (Group F13)

Yamamoto Nanako (Hanamaru Kindergarten): 2nd (Group F5)

Liz (Omamori Himari): 15th (Group F5), 3rd (Group S4)

Nodocchi did very well last year, going all the way to the semis, where she lost to the winner, Taiga-chan. Nodocchi is pretty strong, though she did lose to Momoko in the preliminary. Yamada might give Nodoka a little bit of trouble, but Nodoka should easily win this match. I will be supporting Nodoka in this match.

There isn’t much to say about the last first round match in group D. Nanako did really well in the preliminaries and she was the only one in this matchup to do well. I see no reason why she won’t win this match. I’m going to support Aisa, though, how many times did she actually show up in Railgun?
