Anime Saimoe Tournament – Round 1 – 8

Both Yui and Kana-chan were both able to breeze through the Sunday matches, while Ikaros and Isumi advanced with ease yesterday. Here are the results from the previous two days:

Match A6:

1. Hirasawa Yui (K-On!!): 448 votes

2. Sakurazaki Setsuna (Negima!): 264 votes

3. Nozaki Namiko (GA Geijutsuka Art Design Class): 74 votes

4. Awara Chikako (GA Geijutsuka Art Design Class): 61 votes

Match B6:

1. Ikeda Kana (Saki): 347 votes

2. Ishigaki Tamaki (Taisho Yakyuu Musume.): 218 votes

3. Beatrice (Umineko no Naku Koro ni): 104 votes

4. Bernkastel (Umineko no Naku Koro ni): 88 votes

Match A7:

1. Ikaros (Sora no Otoshimono): 254 votes

2. Hanekawa Tsubasa (Bakemonogatari): 210 votes

3. Mikogami Riko (Anyamal Tantei Kiruminzoo): 80 votes:

4. Houtou (Koihime Musou): 77 votes

Match B7:

1. Saginomiya Isumi (Hayate): 265 votes

2. Togame (Katanagatari): 160 votes

3. Alicia Melchiott (Valkyria Chronicles): 115 votes

4. Daichi Kaoru (Ladies vs. Butlers): 84 votes

If you just look at the final results, nothing surprising occurred on Sunday. But actually, in the beginning hours of the Yui match, Secchan was actually leading. How could a Negima girl that barely made it pass the first preliminary be beating Yui for any period of time? And the answer is, if you have fake votes going her way, then she will take the lead. I guess there are some anti-Yui or anti-K-On forces here, which is not surprising at all. Kana-chan easily won and Tamaki easily took second because of the Umineko split (though the Umineko girls together still did worse).

We’re starting to see a crack in Bakemonogatari’s armor with its first loss in the tournament. Ikaros was just too strong yesterday, while Tsubasa was too weak. The girls in B7 did not have a chance against Isumi, which was expected.

So now, here is a look into the upcoming match:

Match A8:

Araragi Karen (Bakemonogatari): 4th (Group F3)

Kushinada Nemuru (Ookami Kakushi): 10th (Group F4)

Shimada Minami (BakaTest): 8th (Group F8)

Tsuchida Satsuki (Hanamaru Kindergarten): 11th (Group F8)

Match B8:

Ryuubi (Koihime Musou): 10th (Group F1)

Asakura Ryouko (Haruhi): 9th (Group F1)

Oshino Shinobu (Bakemonogatari): 5th (Group F14)

Miyazaki Nodoka (Negima!): 19th (Group F4), 24th (Group F4)

Predictions:

Both of the Bakemonogatari girls are up today. They will have the advantage of having matches on the same day. Right now, I’m going to say that both girls are going in, but Minami-chan might give Karen a really hard time. There is that possibility that Minami-chan will win (and I hope she does), but I’m giving this to Karen right now. Shinobu should be able to advance, which is unfortunate for Nodoka-chan, who I really wanted to advance.
