Anime Saimoe Tournament – Round 1 – 6 and 7

Nadeko and Nanoha showed no weaknesses yesterday, easily winning their matches. Here are the results from yesterday’s matches:

Match A5:

1. Sengoku Nadeko (Bakemonogatari): 376 votes

2. Kannagi Noel (Sora no Woto): 143 votes

3. Sairenji Haruna (To Love-Ru): 99 votes

4. Suminoe Riko (Kiss x sis): 93 votes

Match B5:

1. Takamachi Nanoha (Nanoha): 395 votes

2. Tousaka Rin (Fate/stay night): 193 votes

3. Toudou Lilicia (Seitokai no Ichizon): 79 votes

4. Suzuki (Mayoi Neko Overrun!): 73 votes

There was no way that Nadeko could be caught. She had a huge lead at the beginning and she just continued gaining more and more votes throughout the day. That’s the power of Nadeko and Bakemonogatari for you. The Nanoha vs. Rin-chan match was much closer at the beginning, but Nanoha ran away with it after that.

Since I won’t be here tomorrow, here are the matches for today (A6/B6) and tomorrow (A7/B7):

Match A6:

Hirasawa Yui (K-On!!): 2nd (Group F15)

Awara Chikako (GA Geijutsuka Art Design Class): 15th (Group F7), 14th (Group S3)

Nozaki Namiko (GA Geijutsuka Art Design Class): 18th (Group F13), 15th (Group S3)

Sakurazaki Setsuna (Negima!): 12th (Group F10)

Match B6:

Bernkastel (Umineko no Naku Koro ni): 14th (Group F6), 9th (Group S3)

Ishigaki Tamaki (Taisho Yakyuu Musume.): 11th (Group F11)

Ikeda Kana (Saki): 4th (Group F6)

Beatrice (Umineko no Naku Koro ni): 13th (Group F5), 14th (Group S2)

Match A7:

Mikogami Riko (Anyamal Tantei Kiruminzoo): 11th (Group F10)

Ikaros (Sora no Otoshimono): 7th (Group F1)

Hanekawa Tsubasa (Bakemonogatari): 6th (Group F1)

Houtou (Koihime Musou): 14th (Group F10), 20th (Group S4)

Match B7:

Alicia Melchiott (Valkyria Chronicles): 9th (Group F10)

Daichi Kaoru (Ladies vs. Butlers!): 9th (Group F2)

Togame (Katanagatari): 7th (Group F2)

Saginomiya Isumi (Hayate no Gotoku!!): 2nd (Group F9)

Today’s matches: Match A6 is basically Yui’s match for the taking. Maybe Secchan will give her some trouble, but that’s just wishful thinking. Yui will have absolutely no problem winning her match. Kana-chan is also going to have little trouble taking match B7. If there were another Saki girl there, she would have trouble (she finished 3rd of Saki girls in the Nanoha preliminary group), but there isn’t, so Kana-chan is going to advance.

Tomorrow’s matches: When I first looked at this matchup, I thought to myself, Bakemonogatari wins easily. Then, I noticed that Ikaros is in this match. I also noticed that this matchup has happened before. Tsubasa got 6th and Ikaros got 7th. My thinking right now is that if people want Nagi to advance, they want to vote for Tsubasa because if that happens, the matchup in the next round would between Nagi and two Bakemonogatari girls, which gives Nagi more of the advantage. Neither Bakemonogatari girls could probably take on Nagi alone anyway, but I’m still going to say that Tsubasa wins this match. I don’t really see Isumi haven’t much trouble taking B7. No one is strong enough to give her a good challenge.
