Seitokai Yakuindomo is about Takatoshi Tsuda and his life in Ousai Gakuen’s student council (桜才学園生徒会). Ousai Gakuen was formally an all-girls high school that just started allowing boys to enroll.
As Tsuda steps into the school grounds, he meets Amakusa Shino, the president of the student council who likes to enforce the school rules, and is scolded for not wearing his school uniform correctly. He next meets Hagimaru Suzu, the kid-like treasurer, who gets angry at him for his comment about her being a child. He then meets Shikijou Aria, the secretary that likes to make heavy jokes. After meeting the three members of the student council, Shino makes Tsuda her right-arm man, the vice president. The rest of the episode, we get a tour of parts of the school (that us guys would find exciting), watch them go through the suggestion box (and see Tsuda get threatened through a “suggestion”), and see the student council get interviewed.
So, this is a little like Seitokai no Ichizon, but not really. Both were about student councils with one male member and both guys were vice presidents of their student councils, but that’s pretty much it (I think). Sugisaki Ken (Seitokai no Ichizon) liked the prospect of working with a bunch of girls, seeing it as his harem (I would think the same way…just kidding…kind of). On the other hand, Tsuda doesn’t really see that.
Shino looks a little like Kotegawa Yui (To LOVE-Ru) and her fear of heights reminds me a little of Hina-chan (Hayate no Gotoku). Suzu reminds me of Nagi (Hayate) because of her short stature and how she looks (a little bit).
I think that this anime is okay, like most anime I see. I do find it funny that Shino and Aria (especially Shino) are not afraid to say certain things that other girls would not want to say in front of guys (I would think). And I do find Shino and Suzu cute (especially Suzu). Not as exciting as other anime, but it is interesting enough for me to continue watching and anyway, I like this type of anime.
